My Photography: Black and White, Non-digital!

I made these pictures in 2007, they were taking with a non-digital camera. I developed the film myself. I really miss the process of developing film. You have to sit and wait while you put the film in the developer, stop bath, fixer. Timing each process. I then created the prints in a dark room, which i always thought was the most fun. To get the pictures to look right you put them under light, making a test strip first and seeing how long to leave the whole picture under for. You have to experiment with the length of time for each picture. I liked when i had to dodge the corner if it was too light. Most of all i miss finally seeing the final result. Some times it may take a couple days to get the print you want. Mostly because you have to wait 3 hrs to overnight for the film to dry off before you can use it. I feel more accomplished after having to wait to see what the picture i took actually looks like. With digital cameras you see the picture instantly. This is very convenient, but for me takes away the fun. I loose the anticipation. The reward seeing the picture after waiting. Forgetting in someways what the picture was even of.
